Keyword Research
Once you have done your keyword research with Google’s keyword tool and studied your competitors keywords. You should have a good list of keywords you are going to rank for, thanks to your extensive keyword research. Good, but now it is really just the beginning. You need to start tracking your keywords in SERPS to have effect keyword research. I want to show my readers how I track track my search engine rankings and websites optimization.
I use seomoz, the pro version. This company in my opinion is pretty amazing, and seomoz.org is a “staple” in the Internet Marketing Industry. Basically, the company offers a great keyword tool for keyword research and analysis. They offer Rank Tracking, Social Monitoring and much
more.
How I track my keywords for proper keyword research:
1. I add my keywords to my seomoz pro account, and wait less than a week to be able to if you are in the the top 50 websites for each search term.
2. Check my keyword rankings on each of the 3 major search engines Starting with Google, then Yahoo, and Bing.
3. Check to see how many keywords I have on the first page of the search engines like Google.
4. Then I start tracking how many keywords I have that are in the Top 3! Most valuable spots on any search engine (prime real estate).
Maintain and manage your keywords using this process or something similar, to track the progress of your SEO campaign.
